Whether you check it yourself with our DIY Concrete Health Check™ or book a Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Assessment, here’s what you get:

  • Thousands in savings by avoiding unnecessary repairs or replacements.

  • Confidence to act now — or peace of mind knowing you don’t have to for years.

  • Visual clarity, whether you do it yourself or we inspect it for you — so you can make the smart call, not a blind one.

Why It Works:

  • We educate before we estimate.

  • We document what is often overlooked.

  • Repairs only when they make financial sense.

Most cracks don’t need fixing. Some do. Here’s how to tell:

We’ve built a simple DIY Concrete Health Check you can use in 10 minutes. You’ll know if your crack needs urgent repair, should be monitored, or can be left alone. And if you’re still not sure, we’ll confirm it for you.

DIY Concrete Health Check

GRADE 1: Safe To Monitor For Now - No Immediate Repairs Necessary

If you check all these boxes, the issue appears cosmetic — no repair needed yet, just check in twice a year.

Is the crack thinner than a nickel?

Has the crack stayed the same size for 12+ months?

Are both sides of the crack level (no step or height difference)?

Is it in a low-traffic area (like an unused path or corner)?

Does the crack stay dry — no puddles or water running through it?

Is the surface intact — no flaking, chipping, or sandy feel?

GRADE 2: Preventative Repair Recommended - Fix It Early While It's Still Simple

If you check 2 or more, this is the smart time to repair — before it spreads, costs more, or causes further damage.

Is the crack wider than a nickel or slowly getting bigger over time?

Is the crack narrow but appears sunken, eroded, or hollowed out (“valleying”)?

Is the crack within 6 inches of the edge or near a cut/joint line?

Is the surface starting to flake or chip, or does it feel gritty?

Does water sit in the crack or run through it after rain or snow melt?

Is it in a high-traffic or high-load area (driveway, garage, main walk)?

GRADE 3: Critical Damage – Fix It Now or Pay More Later

Even one check here means the issue is active and could lead to expensive damage. Best to get it inspected and repaired soon.

Is one side of the crack more than 1/4 inch higher than the other?

Are chunks of concrete breaking off or turning into loose gravel?

Is water leaking into your garage, basement, or foundation through the crack?

Has the slab sunk or shifted more than 1/2 inch (trip hazard)?

Are nearby structures like fences, steps, or walls also moving or cracking?
